Hello,

We are integrating NowSMS Gateway into our test solution for MO (mobile initiated) and MT (mobile receiving) MMS testing.

In this platform, the NowSMS has been installed in the same machine which simulates the NW. The NowSMS SMSC connection is set to be http connection. (See the snapshot for configuration). "MMSC Routing" is set as "Direct Delivery (internal MMSC)". As this is simulation test environment, the UE assigned IP address and phone number is fixed and hardcoded in the test sequence.

Our current issue is when we using the commercial phone from ATT on this test environment, the mobile initiated MMS always fail to delivery. From the collected PCAP log we can see in m-send-conf (mmse protocol) has "Response-Status: Transient: Sending address unresolved (0xc1) Sending address unresolved.” This is due to no user name and password setting information in the "MMSC" setting in the ATT official APN setting. (see attached snapshot). This issue could be solved by modifying the APN setting adding with the user name and password information; however, this is not acceptable solution by customer.

Is there a quick work around from the NowSMS Gateway configuration, such as if the request URI is http://192.168.137.1:80 just accept it, or treated as http://192.168.137.1:80/user=test (user information is configured in MMSC Users)?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi,

Let me ask a question, to make sure I understand correctly.

The issue is that your test environment is using local DNS to resolve mmsc.mobile.att.net and proxy.mobile.att.net to the NowSMS installation, correct?

So you want to take a device configured with production settings and use it in the test environment. But there is no proxy that could rewrite the URL or insert an HTTP header for user identification.

The problem is, the MMSC cannot identify the user. There is no concept of a default user...as that could be dangerous in most environments.

Am I understanding correctly?

I'd like to see if we could implement a feature to support this, but I want to make sure I understand.

Hi Hui Zhao,

That use case is understandable. We will produce an update which has a setting to define a default MMSC user account.

It should be ready in 1-2 days.

Hi Hui Zhao,

This update (run nowsms.exe for full install/update) has a setting which should enable the functionality that you need.

http://www.nowsms.com/download/nowsms20150324.zip

Add MSISDNHeaderDefaultUser=xxxxxxx to the [MMSC] section of MMSC.INI and if the subscriber can't be identified, this account will be used.
