Hi Bryce (if youre still here;-))

Some old internet friend of mine is asking me nowSms stuff. Really want to answer, but i cannot. So i will try my luck here.

When sending MMS via MM4. The recipient gateway do not want the RSET command. Any way to exclude it?

Hope all is well...

Hi Lars,

By default, a RSET command is sent and the MM4 connection is held open for 90 seconds, so that if more messages are posted, they can use the same connection.

If you edit VASPOUT\routename\VASP.INI, under the [VASP] header, you can add UseKeepAlive=No to disable holding the connection open (and no RSET).

That said, I tried this setting, and while it applied for regular messages, the RSET command was still used foe MM4 acks. If you are using MM4 for an SMTP-like interface without asks, this should not be an issue.

Hi Bryce

We are actually facing the same issue, the MM4 delivery report send a RSET and our provider retransmits the delivery report.

Can you implement the same setting: UseKeepAlive=No in VASPIN\routename\VASP.INI ?

That would be very much appreciated.

Best Regards

Robert

Hi Robert,

We've posted an update at http://www.nowsms.com/download/nowsms20160210.zip to address this.

This update will respect [VASP] UseKeepAlive=No in VASPOUT\routename\VASP.INI

The above is not a typo, the ACKs (MM4_forward.RES or other .RES) are routed via the outbound "MMSC Routing" connection, so it was logical to share this setting for all messages via this connection.
