Hi Alex,

It depends on the phone.

There are two basic types of WAP Push messages that signal an action to the WAP browser. (MMS, OTA, and some other message types are also WAP Push, but they don't signal an action to the WAP browser.)

These two types are "Service Indication" and "Service Load".

A "Service Indication" push lets you send some display text and a URL. The intent is that the text is displayed with an option to load the URL.

A "Service Load" push sends only a URL. The intent was that the browser would automatically load the URL, which is what I think you want to happen.

A few phones did implement this, but as you can imagine, doing so raises a lot of security issues. So the typical action that you will see when sending a "service load" push to a phone, is that the phone will act the same way as with a "service indication", except that instead of some informational text that you include, it will display generic text such as "service message received", or it will display the URL ... and prompt whether or not you want to load the URL.

So bottom line, you might be able to do what you want on a few phones, so it might work for a limited use application ... but for a wide audience application, it's not practical.

(Note: Nokia has been pushing the concept of trusted push proxies, so that a whitelisted push proxy could send "service load" messages that are allowed to load automatically. You provision a trusted push proxy using OMA OTA. There is a document in www.forum.nokia.com which describes this, and I also posted an example of the OTA document in the following thread: http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/485/10822.html)
