Hi, I'm connected to Mblox, and some countries doesn't receive the sms sent by NowSMS. Mblox traced some and their results are that NowSMS are sending binary data in lowercase and some deliverers cannot understand this. For example (from Mblox logs): UserDataHeader=:06:05:04:0b:84:23:f0 should read UserDataHeader=:06:05:04:0B:84:23:F0 Can you help me ? I'm loosing a lot of sms. Regards

Hi. I don't think that lowercase is a reason of undelivering sms. We send all binary messages in lowercase and we don't have any problems with them. According to the UDH that you placed I think that you're sending f.e. a wap push message. You have to remember that the first octet in user data can be between 00-FF. Other values will be delivered to the handset and delivery reports will be forward back but the message won't be recognized properly by the handset. DARO www.statsms.net

Hi, thanks for your answer. But I'm loosed! The requirement was from mblox, I only use at all NowSMS and don't understand the "first octet" problem. Yes is a wap push message. And I understand that first octet is '06' and is between 00-FF. NowSMS log displays (some info changed to xxxx): 2005-08-17 00:46:37,43021E5A.req,66.98.222.21,17075xxxxxx,OK -- SMPP - smpp.psms.us.mblox.com:3204,SubmitUser=xxxxx;Sender=30xxx;SMSCMsgId=14a7ce4d;Bin ary=1;DCS=F5;UDH=0605040B8423F0;Data=1B0601AE02056A0045C60C036D626C6F782E7A32692 E636F6D2F646F776E2E7068702F3130313733333934302F3330382F676F6F645F6F6C275F626F797 35F3333303330352E6D7033000103676F6F64206F6C2720626F7973000101 Is this right ?

Hi Dani, I believe I replied to you via e-mail regarding this issue. I think you were talking to someone at your SMS service provider who doesn't have a clue as to what they are talking about. When NowSMS is talking via SMPP, it is sending these messages out in a binary format. There is no issue of lower or upper case. If they are seeing things in lower case, it is their program that is formatting things that way, because we are sending binary data. (And sending binary data is the only way that these messages could be sent via SMPP.) -bn |
