Hello,

I have downloaded a trial of NowSMS and am having problems sending an SMS.

I have connected a Siemens M1 Module to COM1 and tried to send an SMS out, only to find in the logs and error message saying:

2005-09-12 17:56:48,432526AA.req,127.0.0.1,0400006037,Retry Pending - ERROR - Modem Response (2): ERROR -- COM1:

I opened up HyperTerminal and tested my modems reponse by entering AT and it responded with OK.

Does any one have an idea on what could be wrong???

Thanks in advance,

Jonesy

Hi Jonesy,

The Siemens M1 has a bug in that it doesn't implement things exactly to the spec.

But there is a simple work-around. Manually edit the SMSGW.INI file, and under the section header for the modem (e.g., [Modem - COM1:] or [Modem - Standard 33600 bps Modem]), add ExcludeSMSC=Yes

You need to restart the NowSMS SMS service after making this configuration edit.

Hi Bryce,

Unfortunately, adding ExcludeSMSC=Yes to the SMSGW.INI file didn't work. I tried to do a search for a firmware upgrade for the Siemens M1 and didn't come up with any results. Would upgrading my firmware resolve my issue??

Regards,

Hi Jonesy,

Make sure that ExcludeSMSC=Yes is under the [Modem - xxx] header.

If it still does not work, the I would like to see a debug log showing a message sending attempt.

The easiest way to enable the SMSDEBUG.LOG is via the "Serial #" page of the configuration dialog where there is a checkbox for it.
