Hey Team,

I have some 2-way commands built which are working perfectly, but I have a request.

Two questions really. One, if I have two inbound and outbound routes defined and I have a keyword that is trigger, lets say I sent a SMS and it comes in over my LAX route, does the reply leave on the LAX route?

In short, what I want to accomplish is to have two sets of trigger words such as "SMS LAX" and "SMS DFW" to trigger a response over that route. Is this possible to define a route for SMS using 2-way commands?

Hi Bradley,

That's a good question. But I'm also thinking about it in the context of your other thread, which is asking about MMS and MM4. If the question is about MMS, I don't think so. But assuming that we are talking about SMS, then the answer is still somewhat complicated.

Let's start simple. In the [SMSGW] section of SMSGW.INI, you can add the setting 2WayReplySameServer=Yes. When this is set, all simple 2-way command responses will be routed back to the SMSC from which the message was received.

What I mean by simple is that I am referring to replies where the response text that is output by your 2-way command is sent back as a reply.

For more complex scenarios, NowSMS can pass the inbound route name to your command by including @@SMSCRoute@@ (SMSC name, e.g. "SMPP - server:port") and/or @@SMSCRouteID@@ ("friendly" route name) placeholders in your 2-way command URL. And when you want to send a message and force it to that same route, when building the HTTP request, include the parameter &SMSCRoute=xxxxxxxxxx where xxxxxxxxxx is this SMSC name or "friendly" route name.

Hey Des,

Thank you! I actually found a way to define a default route in the web GUI rather than the application. I will annotate this in the event we need to modify the SMSGW.

Also, to see how much I can break, do you have a running list or document that has similar request/variables in reference to "In the [SMSGW] section of SMSGW.INI, you can add the setting 2WayReplySameServer=Yes"?
