Hi When we see high HTTP SMS submitted volumes the service keeps restarting, this can happen up to 5 times a day and does not happen when we see high SMPP SMS submitted volumes. This problem started around two months ago Hope you can help BP | |||

Hi BP, What is the version of NowSMS that you are running? Earlier this year, we did some troubleshooting with a customer who described a somewhat similar problem, and increased the size of memory allocations for active HTTP and SMPP connections, which resolved the problem that they were seeing. Our latest stable interim update build is 2021.04.28, which can be downloaded from https://nowsms.com/download/nowsms20210428.zip. Run the EXE file inside the ZIP to update. In the unlikely event that this update creates other problems, we recommend saving all *.exe and *.dll files in the NowSMS program directory before installing the update. You can revert to the earlier version by stopping the services, replacing these files, and then starting the service again. Or, alternatively, the installer for the old version can be used to revert to that version. Regards, Des NowSMS Support | |||

Hi Des Is there a way to allocate more memory without installing the latest update? Every update requires reconfiguration for our bespoke UI which takes quite some time. BP | |||

Hi BP, No, there is no configuration setting or option to apply this change to earlier versions. When I asked an engineering colleague about this issue, I was told that my explanation of this technical issue is overly simplistic. But what can I say, this is how my engineering colleague had explained it to me in the first place.
I assume that you are referring to HTML templates for the web interface. These templates are stored in the HTML subdirectory of the NowSMS installation. Back-up this directory and move the files back after updating. Regards, Des NowSMS Support | |||

Hi Des We have done as you have suggested for previous updates. The changes are more than HTML and unfortunately there always seems to be problems. The current issue we are seeing is that when the service restarts although it only takes moments, it logs users out of their current session within the web interface. I wonder if there is a way to prevent this from happening? Regards Ben |
