So I have an old Nokia 3310 I am trying to send picture messages to, and since NowSMS supports sending binary SMS I tried out the trial version. Problem is that while I was able to send short SMS tests through the web interface, any and all EMS and binary SMS messages I tried to send on any number end up in the queue regardless. I am using NowSMS through the Android modem app, and I was wondering if that had something to do with the problem.

Hi Blake, Unfortunately, the Android modem/app interface can only support standard text messages (or MMS). It cannot support binary SMS messages or extended attributes (such as UDH, custom DCS or PID values). Would a USB GSM dongle suffice? I.e. those wireless broadband dongle things you get from a service provider? | ||||

What about cellphones like say those that interface with the Nokia PC Suite? | ||||

Older phones (such as those that supported Nokia PC Suite) did commonly support this interface. Often it was send only support, as received SMS messages were processed by the SMS client on the phone and became inaccessible to the AT command interface. Regards, Bryce NowSMS Support | ||||

I got around with the issue by running NowSMS on an XP virtual machine and using an old Nokia 5233 as the modem, thanks! | ||||
