Hi Team,

What is the option to route DLRs to the main system (or copy) when using the feature "recipient address to route to this user" and adding a long number?

The issue arises when routing MO messages to a client's long number, which prevents receiving DLRs when submitting MT messages with the same sender name as the long number. All inbound messages and MT message DLRs are forwarded to the client (smpp localuser), but main receipts are not generated.

Setting DuplicateUserMessagesFor2Way=Yes or DuplicateUserReceiptsFor2Way=Yes to duplicate receipts when the original receipt is routed to a local user account does not seem to be effective.

Are there any other configurations or logic that need to be applied?

thanks

Hi Bogas,

I'm sorry, but I'm having difficulty understanding the scenario that you are describing.

Can you walk me through it step by step with examples of what you've configured on the NowSMS side?

Regards,

Hi Bryce,

There is a feature in the NowSMS Edit User panel called “Accept received messages for this user.”
If you enable this checkbox, you can add a number to which inbound SMS messages will be routed. This is configured using “Recipient addresses to route to this user.”

This means that, in order to forward all inbound SMS messages to a particular SMPP user, you simply need to enter the destination number. With this configuration, inbound routing should work properly.

However, this configuration creates an issue with DLRs when the user sends outgoing SMS messages. For outgoing SMS, all original DLRs are also will be forwarded to the user’s SMPP account and are not generated in the standard way. This happens because sender name will be the same as destination number entered in "Recipient addresses to route to this user" and forwarding will be triggered according this rule.

How can DLRs be retrieved from the user’s account and mapped back to the main DLR list?

Thanks,

Bogas

Hi Bogas,

Thanks for the explanation…my initial thoughts were over complicating the scenario. I’m also initially surprised 1hat DuplicateUserReceiptsFor2Way=Yes didn’t do what was expected. I need to discuss this with our engineering team because I’m not seeing any existing setting that would accomplish what you want. Give me a few days,

Bryce

Hi Bogas,

We've completed a preliminary investigation on this issue, and are testing an updated version where DuplicateUserReceiptsFor2Way=Yes works as intended. Whenever a delivery report is delivered to a local user account, a copy of the delivery report is also posted to the 2-way SMS queue for processing. Before we post this update, let me ask whether you are using the Windows or Linux version of NowSMS (both have the same issue).

Regards,

Bryce

Hi Bryce,

Thanks for an update. I am testing this feature in Windows version.
