Hi there again, Bryce! I just wondering why is that there's no field for us to set manually the XSER field for UCP/EMI to be used for billing (mms, downloads, messaging, etc etc..) What should I know in NowSMS Gateway to be able to set the XSER field? Or is XSer field aren't necessary? If yes, what would be the charging using UCP/EMI connection? Please enlighten me on this matter.. Thanks a lot..

Hi, We don't have a facility for setting the billing identifier in the UCP/EMI XSER field. Reading the specification, I do not think it would be very difficult for us to add support for it (and a URL parameter when submitting a message to specify different values for it). However, I do have to ask ... does your provider actually support this identifier? And do they have any documentation about how it is used in their implementation? -bn

hi Bryce, Yes, our provider is supporting this identifier (0C) field...They are requiring us to attach/specify our billing identifier on all our messages.. One thing I notice though, I tried sending a message though web form, the message was sent and being received by the recipient but trying to send a message from mobile phone to UCP connection (a special number like 211) doesn't return a reply nor an error message.. I tried the 2-Way messaging and specified a sample keyword.

Is your billing identifier constant, or is it specified on a per message basis? (If it is constant, we can work in a configuration setting very quickly. If it needs to be set on a per message basis, that would take us longer to implement.)
Is the message even getting as far as being received by NowSMS? (Anything in the SMSIN-yyyymmdd.LOG files?) |
