I bought a DKU-5 Nokia USB Cable, but after installing drivers, nowsms can't test and detect the modem, error says "Unable to access modem, ensure that it is powered on and passes diagnostic tests.

I also use hyperterminal and try to issue a AT command, but get no response from it, AT command even can not display.

Thanks for any help.

Gary,

If Hyperterminal can't talk to the modem, it's a larger issue than NowSMS.

I assume that you've installed the software that came on the CD with the cable ... if not, it can be downloaded from the Nokia site (http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,5184,5447,00.html).

If you go into the Windows Control Panel, Phone and Modem Options, Modems, I would expect to see a modem driver related to the cable in the list. If you select Properties/Diagnostics/Query Modem ... what happens?

If that works, use that same modem driver name for configuring the modem in NowSMS. If it does not work, then try de-installing the USB cable drivers and re-installing them, because something doesn't seem right.
