Hi,

Do you know if these logos (http://ringtones.mobilefun.co.uk/colour-operator-logos/) should be sent in EMS or Nokia Smart Messaging (or both) ?

I've heard that Nokia logos cannot be in 150x50 like these ones ?

Thanks in advance.

Nicolas.

Hi Nicolas,

I believe they are actually downloaded with WAP. They are sent out using either WAP Push or a standard SMS with a URL embedded.

I know with Nokia phones there is a special MIME type that is mentioned in the following thread:

http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/3676.html

As I recall, they are just GIFs of a particular size (I think it is 100x50, not 150x50, but the size might vary by phone) ... and they are served up with the MIME type "image/vnd.nok-oplogo-color" instead of "image/gif".

If you want to send one using multimedia WAP Push (or MMS) in NowSMS, add a content type mapping for "image/vnd.nok-oplogo-color" to the MMSCTYPE.INI file.

Add the following to the [MMS Content Types] section:

image/vnd.nok-oplogo-color=.nol

And add this to the [Extensions] section:

.nol=image/vnd.nok-oplogo-color

Rename a ".gif" of the appropriate size to use the ".nol" extension, and send it.

I thought this was only supported by Nokia phones, however ... and the site you reference above claims to be compatible with many other phone types. So I don't know if there is another MIME type supported by those other phones, or if they just mean that the logo will appear on the other phones (as an image instead of a logo).
