I'm having problems getting this phone to work with NowSms. The error msg "Modem does not support PDU mode". Anyone else have tried the phone and got it to work properly with NowSms? Rifdi. | |||

Btw.. Has anyone got NowSMS to work with a Nokia 7210 or the 9210? are there any issues? Thanks. | |||

Hi, Generally error messages that indicate that a modem does not support SMS, or does not support "SMS PDU mode" (used to send binary SMS) are reliable error messages, indicating that the phone/modem does not provide the necessary SMS support. When you get an initialisation error message, that often can be overcome by configuration changes. So bottom line, it is likely that the T200 will not work. (I've used an Ericsson R380, R520, T68 and T68i, so I'm surprised that the T200 does not support PDU mode.) I haven't tried the 7210 or 9210 myself. I know we have had customers using the Nokia 7110, 6210, 6310i and 8310. -bn | |||

Rifdi, I've got another person who seems to be getting this error on a T200 (or maybe it is a colleague of yours). I've downloaded some info on the T200 from the Ericsson web site, and it looks like it should definitely support SMS PDU mode. How about going into HyperTerminal, connecting to the phone/modem, and issuing the following commands: ATZ ATE0V1 AT+CSMS=0 AT+CMGF=0 What do you see? It sounds like an error is occurring on the AT+CMGF=0 command, which sets PDU mode for sending/receiving SMS messages. This is unusual, because based on the information that I see, the phone only supports PDU mode. What happens if you issue the command: AT+CMGF? How about: AT+CMGF=? Maybe there is an answer in the responses to one of these commands. -bn | |||

Hi There, I too have a T200, T300 & T68i, the T200 does not work. Any news on this? Bryce, do you still need these reults? The T200 is a good choice for a model phone as it's the cheaper of the lot and can be left plugged in. I would like to use the T200 with the gateway. Let me know, Digs. | |||

Digby, No one has ever sent me the results, so I would like to see them if you have the time. I suspect the AT+CSMS=0 command is going to fail. And I suspect that the phone just doesn't have SMS support for the AT command set. In addition to the command above, I'd be curious the results of: AT+CSMS=? AT+CSMS? -bn | |||
