Try going into the Windows Control Panel ... Phone & Modem Options ... select the Modem, and look for the "Query Modem" option under the "Diagnostics" area.

What does this report?

Hi Igor,

It wounds like the modem driver is not configured for the correct port.

Are you using the "Standard 33600bps Modem Driver" (that's the one that seems to work best).

When you connect to the port with HyperTerminal, can you type ATZ (and press Enter), and get an OK response back? (How about AT+CSMS=0 ... does that also get an OK back?)

Assuming HyperTerminal is working ok, what happens when you try to have NowSMS go directly to COM1 ... what error is that reporting?

I'm wondering if maybe there is some sort of strange cable problem, like a DTR/DSR/CTS/RTS signalling problem of some sort.

ok fixed this issue, have a different one now :-)

Modem is installed and working, now I'm trying to send an SMS to my phone number and trying to configure the gateway to run an URL when I get the SMS. http://www.mysite.com/modem.php?sms=@@SMS@@
test script suppose to send me an email notification. I tried the page and the email is being sent, but when i send the SMS nothing happends. I dont even know if the modem gets the SMS. Where do I start to troubleshoot this issue?

I found the issue.
but why does it take so long to get the SMS? i'm testing this with nothing in 2-way so it would just create a file in SMS-IN but i have about 5-10 minute delay if I just use the same SIM card in my cell phone. Any suggestions?
