When an MMS is sent and the “from:” field is empty the NowSms software sends an illegal msg to the phone. The generated message will make some handsets reset. Example: Nokia 6230. Are there any settings to prevent this from occurring? | |||

Hi, It may cause problems on some phones, but it is most certainly not "illegal". If you refer to the specifications, you will see that the from field is optional. Of course, I can think of no good legitimate reason for this to be allowed, but that is another story. When NowSMS is connecting to an external MMSC, there are settings for a "Default Sender Address" which can be applied to messages that do not have a sender. When NowSMS is acting as the MMSC itself, there is no general setting to force a sender address when one is not present. There are settings that can be applied to individual VASP accounts to do this. But you can still submit a messages via the web interface without a sender. -bn | |||
