Hi,
I'm using Sonny Erricson GM29 Modem with a NowSMS SMSC and trying to send a wap push request for a Motorolla V3 on Cingular-ATT without any success.

Are there any known issue regarding this operation assuming the HW / Cell devices i'm currently using ?

Please note that I can send regular Text Messages to the same device using the same configuration and WAP push messages to other devices.

Thanks.

Hi,

Are both the modem and the receiving device both on Cingular?

Is one on a blue plan (old ATTWS) and one on an orange plan (Cingular)?

There are issues in the US in that binary messages (such as WAP push) are not supported in cross-operator connections. Basically, the SMS interconnections that are used in the US to connect the different operators do not support binary messages. They either corrupt the messages (show up as unrecognisable text), or they discard them.

I've heard that Cingular has not yet integrated the blue and orange networks, and messages between these two networks go through the same SMS interconnect as if they were going to another operator.

I saw that you posted a similar question on another thread ... and you seemed to think that the problem was device specific. You didn't mention that you were using Cingular on that other thread.

It may be worth trying some experiments moving some SIM cards around between different devices that you have ... I think you will find that the problem follows the SIM cards rather than the devices.

Unfortunately, there is not much that can be done (other than using a service provider that can support binary SMS to the US networks), because of interoperability issues with regard to binary SMS in the US.
