Hi

I have configured NowSMS for 2way SMS.

When I try to send an SMS from the web Interface, Iget the following Debug Log in SMSOut20060726.log -
"
Retry Pending - ERROR - Modem Response (2): +CMS ERROR: 300"

and the SMSdebug.log says,

"16:27:32:406 [2] ThreadProcessModem: OUT: 00011E0C81198904740865000002C824
16:27:32:515 [2] ThreadProcessModem: ERROR - Modem Response (2): +CMS ERROR: 300
16:27:32:515 [2] ThreadProcessModem: Error: ERROR - Modem Response (2): +CMS ERROR: 300 "

Can any one please help. It is urgent.

Thank you.

According to the CMS Error code list at http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/829.html, CMS ERROR 300 indicates "ME failure". ME is short for mobile equipment, e.g., your device.

Unfortunately, this is not very helpful.

You do have a SIM card in the modem, right?

If you put the SIM card into a phone, you can send and receive SMS, right?

What is the modem?

The modem test in NowSMS only indicates that the modem is responding to commands. This does not indicate that it has a working network connection.

Let me clarify what I asked you to do previously.

Please remove the SIM card from the modem, and put the SIM card into a mobile phone.

Verify that you can send and receive SMS messages with the SIM card from the modem inside of a mobile phone instead.

If sending/receiving SMS with the SIM card in the phone, then this suggests that something is wrong with the mobile operator account associated with the SIM card.

If sending/receiving SMS is ok with the modem's SIM card in a phone, then I do not know what to suggest. Powering off the modem and restarting it is a good idea. Verifying that the modem is located in an area with a strong signal (for connecting to the mobile operator) is also a good idea.
