Has sending ota settings (OMA) in Now MMS been tested with Alcatel phones such as OT c750 ?

I was trying to send settings through the NowSms web interface and the phone receives them but after saving them none of the fields on the phone are filled (APN, MMS center , gateway IP ...) everything is empty or has a default value (0.0.0.0 for the IP and http:// for the mmsc)

Are Alcatel phones supported? or is there a known issue with their OMA support?

Hi Patrick,

I have no experience with Alcatel phones.

I would try using the "View XML" function in NowSMS to capture the XML settings that NowSMS generates ... and then make modifications to that XML to try to figure out what the phone requires.

I found another thread here, where someone posted some settings where everything was saved except the MMS Server address:

http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/12/11491.html

Unfortunately, it references a specification on the Alcatel developer web site ... yet that web site no longer seems to be registered to Alcatel. I find other links on the web to that developer web site being Alcatel's developer web site ... but alas, Alcatel apparently forgot to renew their domain registration for it.

In fact, Alcatel's own web site directs to that web site. I guess Alcatel's mobile phone business went into a joint venture with TCL, and then was acquired fully by TCL, and it is now known as "T&A mobile phones" (a name which makes me laugh). And they don't have any technical information available ...

Unfortunately, I think that means we can only experiment and guess.

Do you get any further with the XML referenced in the other thread?

Hello Bryce,
Thanks for your reply and sorry for my delay.
Actually that thread was the starting point of my tests before I gave up and decided to ask here.

Also as you have remarked every contact information for Alcatel developers seem to have vanished from the web so I was left in the cold.

I am highly suspecting buggy phone firmware. But I was hoping to get a confirmation from any other source on that. I'll keep you posted when I can resume testing.
