Hey Bryce,

I hope you can enlighten me about the Q directory. I tried to send out messages using NOWSMS thru my GSM multitech GSM modem. I didnt realize that I didnt have any credits left in the account. Some .ERR files were created in the Q directory. What is up with these files? Since they are in the Q directory, are they sent out once I put enough credits in the account? or Are they left there for eternity and I have to get my program to process these? Is there anywhere I can read about the intricacies of NOWSMS?
Thanks.

Hi Ramon,

They are kept around for about 72 hours, so that you can easily repost them if necessary. To repost them, rename to use a ".REQ" file extension, instead of ".ERR".

Unfortunately, when it comes to reading about the intracies, this discussion forum is pretty much the source. (Although the documentation is extremely lengthy, there are still lots of tidbits and intracies that only come up in discussions here.)

Hey Bryce,

You said error files are kept for 72 hours. What happens to the .ERR files after 72 hours?

Thanks.

They are deleted.

Message details of rejected messages could still be retrieved out of the SMSOUT-yyyymmdd.LOG files.
