Hey Bryce,
On My MMSC I get multiple LOG entries saying "Warning: SMS Message could not be sent to +18683500062, ERROR: Invalid source address". I want to know what in the config stipulates the MMSC to attempt to send an SMS and more importantly how to get rid of it. Our MMSc has an SMPP connection to our SMSC, if that helps. Thanks

Hi Brandon,

Apologies for the delay in response.

The MMSC attempts to send an SMS every time it has an MMS message delivery ... unless you are routing MMS deliveries via an operator MMSC (defined on the "MMSC Routing" page of the configuration).

Maybe an overview/explanation of how MMS works would help: http://www.nowsms.com/howmmsworks.htm.

If I can provide any further clarification, please let me know.

In the SMPP context, "Invalid Source Address" occurs when the SMPP service provider does not like the "source address" (also known as "sender address") for the message. When the MMSC generates MMS notifications over SMS, it does not apply an SMS sender address. If you need to apply a sender address, you would set a "Default Sender Address" in the definition of your SMPP SMSC connection in NowSMS.
