Hello, Which number dial the modem when i send a sms or MMS message? When i connect him to this software. I don't live in the uk but in holland?! And works the SIEMENS C45 or C35i good for this program? | |||

Hi, When you send an SMS message (or the SMS notification part of an MMS message) via a GSM modem, the modem connects to the SMSC number configured on the phone's SIM card (which is generally the SMSC of your mobile operator). The operator SMSC actually handles the delivery of the message. I'm not sure about the Siemens C45 or C35i. I do know of customers using the Siemens MC35, which is a dedicated GSM modem, and I've also heard from customers using the Siemens SL45 as a GSM modem, but I know the SL45 is a higher-end model. I'd suggest that you give it a try. (If you get an error in NowSMS saying that it cannot initialize the modem, this does not necessarily mean that it will not work. It just seems that on some systems we have problems connecting to a modem by a direct COM port reference. In that instance, go into the Windows Control Panel, and add a modem. Add the "Standard 9600 bps Modem" or "Generic 9600 bps Modem" driver. The use the "Diagnostics" function in the modem area of the Control Panel to query the modem to make sure the driver is configured correctly. Then in NowSMS, instead of configuring NowSMS to talk to COM1, configure it to talk through the named modem driver.) -bn | |||
