Hi Bryce, I want to send settings to phone using oma ota. I have tomcat server which i am using for content publishing server . I have taken example xml to send bookmarks from your post. What is the extension for that file. I am hosting this file in the server and have a link to it and clicking on which the bookmark should be set. Is it possible? Or it can be sent as only message. Could you please give me some idea. Please reply as soon as possible. Thanks in advance. anu | |||

Hi anu, The file extension or content type does not matter. But there is no way for NowSMS to send these settings other than posting them in an HTTP POST. NowSMS does not support referencing them via an HTTP link to another server. Another recent thread has been discussing how to do this type of POST: http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/17038.html Do note however, that bookmarks sent in this manner are not supported by many phones. Nokia phones and SonyEricsson P800/P900 support the old style format. Newer SE phones support a format based upon OMA OTA.
