Dear Bryce We are a company using your software (SN: 2860). The last few days we have noticed in our log files that some outgoing SMS are dispathed to the one receiver randomly through our outgoing IPs. I would like to mention that we use multiple outgoing IPs corresponding to different short codes, and the dispatch method we use is SMSC Route. I have attached a fragment of our logs, clearly indicating the problem. Could we please have some help on this? kind regards Nick Gotsis

Hi Nick, I'm sorry, but I need more of a description of what the problem is. Can you explain what you are seeing in the log that does not match your expectations? I'm guessing that you are referring to how all of the messages in this log are addressed to recipient "306979194589". Some are routed via a CIMD connection, and some via an SMPP connection. The key difference between which messages are routed via one SMSC or the other is the sender address. The SMPP connection is configured with a default sender address of "4578". Therefore, any message that you send with a sender of "4578" gets routed via that connection, instead of using recipient routing logic. (If two or more connections were defined with a sender address of "4578", then recipient routing logic for each SMSC would be evaluated to determine which SMSC to route via.) A good explanation of the routing logic can be found here: http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/11908.html -bn |
