Is there a way to have NOWSMS send the sytem alerts/system information to a mobile phone (SMS) and not an e-mail address.

Only if you used the e-mail to SMS interface, specifying an e-mail address that got routed back out to SMS.

This is probably something that we should consider. It's just that the most common alert that we've been concerned with is an SMSC connectivity failure ...
