Hi,

we have following configuration:
Server 2003 with IIS 6.0 listening on port 80 and NowSms v 2006.03.09 with web interface listening on port 8800.
After reboot NowSMS service fails to bind to port 8800. Starting service manualy does not resolve problem. But if we stop IIS, NowSMS services starts normaly. After we start IIS, NowSMS service resume work normaly.

At moment after every reboot, we need to do this stopIIS-restartNowSMS-startIIS procedure.

Please help. Configuraton error or bug? We triplechecked that no service is touching 8800 port.

Hi Neven,

If you enable the SMSDEBUG.LOG, I believe it will tell you what the error code is that is returned by the bind when it fails. I would be curious to know what this error code is. 10048 is the most common error, which indicates that another server is already bound to this port.

Other than a port number conflict with another server, I can't imagine what this problem would be. I'd certainly suggest trying to configure NowSMS for another port.

My normal NowSMS server in the office is running on Windows Server 2003 with IIS enabled, and I've never seen a conflict like this.
