1) Using the web NOWSMS interface, I manage to send MMS TEXT message OK BUT I did not receive the GRAPHICS/IMAGES that I send. I only receive the TEXT message. I am using SOnyEricsson P800.

2. How to send MMS message from the phone. DO I have to send to hpno@domain or username@domain in the TO: field?
TQ

Hi azlinux,

I know we've been exchaning some e-mail on this as well.

I don't have any idea what could be going wrong with graphics as opposed to text, unless the WAP gateway that your phone is configured to use does not support larger messages.

Regarding #2 ... I'm not sure I understand the question. To send an MMS message from the phone to another phone number, you enter a phone number. To send an MMS message from the phone to an e-mail address, you enter an e-mail address.

Hi Bryce,
Yupp. But I'm still unable to received the graphics. I am sure that my WAP gateway receive the graphics since I'm able to receive bigger files when using the account at nowmms.

Would you like to test for me if I create an account for you at my server so that you can check yourself whether you will receive the graphics if I send u an MMS message with graphic from the NOWSMS web interface?

Azaman,

I'll e-mail you a phone number, hopefully you can create an account on your system and we'll try that.

I'm testing your software and I'm having a similar problem.
I need to receive MMS sent by a nokia phone with a digital camera.
I'm using a NOKIA 6150 connected with a serial cable as receiving equipment. It works with SMS but when I send an MMS I recive a message like this:
--------------
[SMS-IN]
Sender=42024
PhoneNumber=+393488716164
dcs=F1
Data=VodafoneOmnitel: c'e' un messaggio multimediale MMS per te da "mmsviaweb". Visualizzalo su www.190.it, area MMS. Il tuo codice e' 3549269
Binary=0
--------------
The software saves the message in the SMS-IN folder and not in MMS-IN

I'm using Vodafone as operator for both phones (sending and receiving).

Hi Franco,

Sorry for the delay getting back to you.

That is happening because your operator is doing it.

For many operator MMS systems, if they do not know if the recipient has an MMS compatible phone, rather than send the message in MMS format, they send an SMS telling the user to login to a web site.

Unforutnately, there's not much we can do there ... you'd have to talk to your operator about getting MMS enabled on the receiving phone.

Or you could configure your sending phone to use the Now SMS/MMS Gateway as its MMSC for sending messages.

That said ... if you're using an MMS compatible phone connected to the Now SMS/MMS Gateway ... our experience has been that if the phone receives an MMS message, it intercepts the message and does not transmit the message to the gateway. You actually have to use a mobile phone that does not support either MMS or WAP push connected to the Now SMS/MMS Gateway in order to receive MMS messages.

We do use NowSMS to power the NowMMS.com service.

If you're not too well-versed in computers, I don't expect that you'll get very far with this product. It is somewhat technical.

For starters, in order to run the software, you need a link to an SMS service provider (or a GSM phone connected to the serial port of the PC that is running the software).

Hi,

Some of my customers using P800 phones are facing a problem.

When they request for an MMS from the gateway, the gateway sends back an SMS saying "ECHO is on".

Could you tell me what could be the problem here.

Hi,

I'd have to know more about your configuration.

It sounds like you have a 2-way command setup on NowSMS that points to a batch file that has an ECHO command in it.

Please provide more details about your configuration.

If you want to contact me via e-mail (nowsms@now.co.uk), specifically I'd like to see a debug log from the gateway that shows this interaction. (To enable the debug log, manually edit SMSGW.INI, and add Debug=Yes under the [SMSGW] section header. Then restart the gateway. This will cause the gateway to produce an SMSDEBUG.LOG.)

I'd like to see an SMSDEBUG.LOG showing the interaction ... and also I would like to see the SMSGW.INI file so that I could understand how your 2-way commands are configured.
