Hi Bryce One thing wanted to suggest. On smpp user accounts nowsms can specify the number of sms received per second. There is one more setting I would like to suggest. Is it possible to specify the number of binds a smpp user account can make to nowsms? This would be useful as smpp accounts would be server intensive. So a small smpp user can be given lets say 2 binds on his account and a bigger smpp user can be given 4 binds. If the smpp user connected to nowsms on smpp increase his defined number of binds the additional binds should be rejected. Thanks Sam

Hi Sam, Yes, I agree we should do this. I'll put it into the development queue. I should point out that the limits for how many SMS the account can submit per second does take into account that the client could have multiple connections. So if you limit an account to 1 message every 2 seconds ... the account can still only submit 1 message every 2 seconds, even if they have 10 active connections. (We figured that ensuring these limits applied across multiple connections would discourage multiple connections ... but I agree it can still be a waste of resources allowing the additional connections in the first place.) -bn

Follow-up ... This has been implemented in an update ... http://www.nowsms.com/download/20070315.zip. There is an "SMPP Options" dialog next to where the SMPP port number is configured on the "Web" tab of the NowSMS configuration dialog, which allows this setting, "Max Connections Per Client", to be configured as a default that applies to all client accounts. It is also possible to override this connection limit on a per-account basis. To override the limit for a specific client account, it is necessary to define a limit for the speed at which messages will be received from the account. In the "# Messages/# Seconds" field, enter a value of xxx/yyy/zzz, where "xxx" is the number of messages allowed per "yyy" seconds, and "zzz" is the connection limit to be applied for this account. To disable message speed limits, but define a connection limit, use a value of 0/0/zzz, which indicates no limits, but specifies "zzz" as the connection limit for this account. -bn
