Im using/testing the NowSMS 4.11 with my Falcom A3D GSM modem, it seems that the software doesn't see my modem, My modem is in COM2 but error occured while NowSMS is testing/initializing it.

Note that diz modem has no problem when im using this as my SMS Sender/Receiver which we created.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Earljon,

Is the error message displayed: "Error initializing modem --"?

If so, this seems to occur on some Windows systems (unfortunately none of the systems in our offices so we haven't found a pattern).

The error seems to go away if instead of trying to connect directly to the COM port, you install a modem driver, and configure NowSMS to talk to the modem through a modem driver.

You can just go into the "Modems" area of the Windows Control Panel ... pick the option to add a modem ... tell Windows that you will pick the modem from the list ... and then pick either the "Standard 9600 bps Modem" or "Generic 9600 bps Modem" entry. After installing the modem driver, use the "Diagnostics" option in the "Modems" are of the Control Panel to "Query Modem" to configure that the driver is configured correctly.

(Of course, you can also select a faster modem driver, I just usually recommend 9600bps out of habit, especially as the speed of talking to the modem isn't that critical to gateway performance.)
