It depends.

Let's take MMS first ...

To support MMS with NowSMS as an direct delivery MMSC in a CDMA environment, it requires that you have an SMPP connection that supports WAP WDP Adaptation, which is usually available ony via a direct connection to the operator SMSC. (We have several CDMA based mobile operators that are using NowSMS as their MMSC.)

Alternatively, NowSMS can connect to an operator MMSC, or MMS service provider, using MM7, MM4 (SMTP), or EAIF, which are all IP-based protocols.

Unlike GSM environments, there is no support for NowSMS sending/receiving MMS via a CDMA modem. (Theoretically it could be possible to send MMS via such a configuration, but this is not a configuration that we have any expertise in.)

For SMS ...

NowSMS can connect to an SMS service provider or SMSC using any of the support protocols ... SMPP, UCP/EMI, CIMD2 or HTTP.

Unlike GSM environments, there is not a standard for sending/receiving SMS via a CDMA modem. There is one CDMA modem that we are aware of, from Multitech, which supports a subset of the GSM modem "AT command" set, which does allow NowSMS to send/receive SMS messages via a Multitech CDMA modem. We are not currently aware of any other manufacturers with such support.
