Contacted one of our mobile operators about interfacing with them. They tell that they are using a protocol called CIMD2. Seems like this means that they are using their own gateway with no exception, and that content providers can't run their own gateway. Does this seem to be a correct interpretation ? Will it then be possible to use our gateway, and will it provide any advantages?

CIMD is a protocol for Nokia SMSCs. It is on our development list. Unsure when it will be implemented, but it is relatively high on the priority list.

Is there any news on the CIMD2 implementation? We need to deploy an SMS gateway within the next 4 weeks, and I would very much like to use Now SMS if possible, but it looks like we will need both UCP/EMI and CIMD2.
