Hi Guys,
I want to save received SMS in a textfile, is there any way that NowSMS can do it itself or do i have to write a seperate program and call it from 'Command to execute' ?
Or any one have got that kind of script will be much appreciated.
Thanks-Imran

Received messages are logged to SMSIN-yyyymmdd.LOG. That might be good enough for your needs?

If you're looking for a simple script with more capabilities, but that logs messages to a text file, see the following:

The Nokia 5310 is one of the many Nokia phones where the GSM modem implmentation does not support delivery received SMS messages over the GSM modem interface.

Two SonyEricsson phones should not be a problem. If they happen to be the same exact model, you'll see the same modem driver listed twice, with the second one followed by "#2".

If you must use a Nokia phone, it has to be an older model, and it cannot be a Series 60 (S60/Symbian) device.

Older Nokia phones used to be quite good for use as a GSM modem. I'm talking about classic models like the 6210.

But Nokia Series 60 (S60/Symbian) phones have always had a limitation that they do not support receiving SMS over the GSM modem interface.

Older Series 40 phones did have both send/receive SMS over the GSM modem interface support. But Series 40 "3rd Edition" and later models no longer have receive SMS support for the GSM modem interface.

Here's a quick reference:

Nokia Series 60 (S60) phones - Can send SMS and MMS. Cannot receive SMS or MMS.

Nokia Series 40 phones prior to "3rd edition" - Can send SMS and MMS. Can receive SMS. Cannot receive MMS.

Nokia Series 40 3rd Edition phones - Can send SMS and MMS. Cannot receive SMS or MMS.

SonyEricsson phones, on the other hand, generally work well, except for those few higher end models that use the UIQ (Symbian based) user interface.

If the message gets processed by a 2-way script, it is automatically deleted after it is processed. Your script, when it processes the message, would have to save a copy of it somewhere else if you needed to perform other processing on it.

No, it is one or the other.

If you configure a script, the messages will be deleted from SMS-IN after the script is run.

The script is run one time for each message.
