Hi,

What type of SMSC connection do you have?

Do you have "Receive SMS Messages" checked under "Properties" of the SMSC connection in the "SMSC" list?

Is it a GSM modem?

If so, what device is the modem?

If it is a Nokia phone, then most Nokia phones, unfortunately, do not support receiving SMS messages via the GSM modem interface. They support sending only.

If it is a different device, then sometimes changing the setting for the "SMS Message Storage" option will produce better results. Most dedicated modem devices work best with "SMS Message Storage" = "Direct to Modem".

Follow-up. I see you posted this question several times (sorry that we have been a bit slow in responding this week). I deleted the other threads so that all of the conversation would be in a single thread.

In one of your other postings, you added the following additional information:

quote:

Hi i connected my mobile as a modem with the now sms gateway.. iam able to send messeges and also i can see them in smsout folder but iam not able to receive any messages.. to receive messages what settings needs to be configured? do i need to write any script code ?how to write commanda to execute?and iam also not able to see any thing under received sms command table? and also how to edit that table?

In this posting you mention it is a mobile. I'm guessing there is a good chance that it is a Nokia phone. Unfortunately, if it is a Nokia Series 60 (Symbian) phone ... or any other Nokia phone manufactured since about 2Q 2005, Nokia does not support routing received SMS messages over the GSM modem interface in these devices.

So there may be nothing that you can do.

If it is another type of modem device, then my other advice would apply.

By default, if you have no 2-way commands defined, the messages would still arrive in the SMS-IN directory, and you would see an SMSIN-yyyymmdd.LOG (just like you see the SMSOUT-yyyymmdd.LOG for sent messages). So it sounds like your system is not seeing received messages.

I'm guessing that it is a Nokia phone issue, but if it is a different device, then we can try to troubleshoot further.
