Can i use User / Company name in sender field while sending SMS rather than mobile number assigned to GSM Modem. | |||

Hi Sandy, What you're referring to is known as alphanumeric sender support. Some SMS service providers support this ... but when they do, it is only available in some countries. The reason for this limited availability is that many mobile operators have commercial policies against messages that it is not possible to reply to. That said, it is not technically possible to override the sender address when sending messages with a GSM modem. When sending messages with a GSM modem, there is no support in the protocol to insert a sender address at all ... the mobile operator always inserts the phone number associated with the SIM card in the modem as the sender address when it processes the message. -- Des NowSMS Support |
