Hi Lars, I could be wrong ... but, I would expect that a separate port number would not be defined for this. The vCard/vCalendar ports were not very widely implemented (mostly just by Nokia if memory serves me correctly). I believe the definition of those ports predates the formal definition of WAP Push. I would expect that you would send a vNote via WAP Push to a device that supports it. It is miscellaneous content types like this that led us to add the "Send WAP Push Advanced" web form into NowSMS (and the programmatic interface for submissions would be PAP). When using WAP Push, the UDH port is the WAP Push port. Within the WAP Push content, there is an "X-WAP-Application-ID:" header that directs the push to the correct application on the device. I don't know what the application id would be for vNote. I checked the OMNA (http://www.openmobilealliance.org/Tech/omna/omna-push-app-id.aspx), and I don't see one That said, that doesn't necessarily mean that you wouldn't use WAP Push ... when an application id is not present, phones generally route the message to the correct application handler based upon content type. I did a little more searching, and I see that we have some customers including vNote objects in MMS messages. The current focus on vNote might be on including vNote objects in MMS messages rather than delivering them separately. -- Des NowSMS Support |
