I'm using the NOWSMS Web Menu Interface to create a .MMS file to send to a Nokia 3650 phone. Unfortunately, the message doesn't get delivered due an issue at our end (see my posting "Destination Port Numbers"). So, I send a WAP Push message with the URL to retrieve the message from the NOWSMS server, which arrives OK, but when I go to retrieve it I get the message "PushViewer: Invalid File Format" displayed on the phone. The message contains a simple jpg image. Is this something to do with the phone, or is it because the server doesn't understand the WAP UA header sent from the phone? Cheers Matt | |||

Matt, Basically the way that you're trying it won't work. The process of delivering an MMS to a phone is a little more complicated. The compiled MMS message file that you have is in "m-retrieve-conf" format ... and generally the phones want to see a notification ("m-notification-ind") message first ... and this wakes up the MMS client on the phone to fetch the actual "m-retrieve-conf" format message. So sending a conventional push is not going to do the trick. -bn |
