Hi Just wanted to know if there was a way of tracking sent messages. i know the smsout log file notes the modem number from which an sms is sent, just wanted to know if there was a way of tracking which number the message is sent through (using gsm modems with sims in) so i can track send performance per modem | |||

Hi Neil, The modem name should appear in the SMSOUT record, after the "OK --" or "ERROR --" indication, like this: 2009-06-30 00:13:12,4A49684E.req,127.0.0.1,xxxxxxxxxxxxxx,OK -- Standard 33600 bps Modem #2,Text="test message" -- Des NowSMS Support | |||

Hi Des Thanks for the quick reply. I understant that the modem number is output to the smsout record, what i wanted to do is either replace that with, or add the tel number of the sim the message is being sent from. i have gsm modems attached by usb across daisy chained usb hubs and identifying each modem by modem number is nigh on impossible. is there a way to add to the smsout record the tel number of the sim the message is being sent through? | |||

Hi Neil, Unfortunately there is not. I did do some looking into this, and it actually would not be very difficult to put the phone number configured for the modem into the SMSOUT record. However, we're finalising a new release, and we're deferring any non-critical changes right now as they complicate the testing process. We can revisit this issue in a couple of weeks, but unfortunately for now, all there is is the modem driver name. -- Des NowSMS Support | |||

Neil, We had to make a change for another issue. As the change to include the modem sender number in the SMSOUT log was very minor, we were also able to include this change in the update. The 2009.07.04 update is available at http://www.nowsms.com/download/nowsms2009rc.zip. -bn | |||
