Hi, I'm trying to add multiple Nokia 6150/5110 phones as GSM modems,to my PC. Till now I only got one working with Now SMS. Does anyone have any experience doing this, because I can't seem to get the second one working. When I run Nokia datasuite, It sees only one phone. Any idea ???? regards Jerrel Smith | |||

Hi Jerrel, I think that is a limitation of Nokia Data Suite. The 5150/6150 phones did not have a true inbuilt GSM modem. The Nokia Data Suite software emulates a GSM modem and communicates with the phone using some proprietary protocol. More recent Nokia phones have inbuilt GSM modem capabilities (not all of the low-end models, but the mid-tier and high-end models do ... just note that the high-end Series 60 phones only implement the GSM modem interface for sending SMS messages). -bn |
