HI
I have 3 accounts on the same operator SMSc, and I have configured the 3 accounts on the same nowsms installation on a single machine
I have set the sender address parameter and included it in the positing URL (I send from a VB app.)
My problem is the gateway always replays with this error "2004-04-13 17:58:27,407C0012.req,127.0.0.1,0101402952,Retry Pending - ERROR: submit_sm or submit_multi failed -- SMPP - 163.121.178.15:1037"
And when I remove the sender address it works well but I am not sure of which account are the messages being sent from cause I need to send from the 3 accounts because of a different content

Please advice

Hi ram,

Perhaps your provider does not allow you to set a sender address. You should inquire with them about that.

Also, what value are you setting for the sender address? My experience has been that some providers will only allow you to set this value to alphanumeric values and won't allow you to specify phone numbers ... others only allow a phone number to be specified as the sender address but not an alphanumeric.

Initially, for testing, what happens if you leave the default sender address field blank ... with "Allow Sender address override" checked (I believe it is checked by default if the default sender address is blank). Then try submitting with different sender addresses, and perhaps you can experiment to see what sender address values your provider considers to be acceptable.

Also, on connecting multiple times to the same SMSC, refer to the following (otherwise NowSMS may not properly maintain separate configuration information for each connection):

Hi
Thanks for your answer and please find some more details
1- The operator has assigned a sender number for each account
2- What I am writing in the sender address field the number given from the operator
3- I have tried it with the field "Allow Sender address override" checked and unchecked and all gave me the same result even it was only one account configured

Thank in advance

Ram,

What value did you set for this sender address?

You may need to inquire with your service provider to ask them why your messages are being rejected.

Did they provide you with any specific settings that should be used for connecting to their service? If so, it may be necessary to configure those settings in NowSMS.

Without knowing what those settings are, I can only guess. The "sender address" setting was my first guess.

One other thing comes to mind, however. You say that "The operator has assigned a sender number for each account". Have they defined 3 separate accounts on their SMSC?

If that is the case, perhaps you need to define 3 separate accounts in NowSMS.

If so, the following thread explains how to configure multiple connections to the same SMSC:

Bryce,
Please find answers for your questions

1- i set for the sender address the value given from the operator

2- They provided me with details about the TON and NPI plus the other connection information

3- Yes I have 3 different accounts on the SMSC with 3 different user names and passwords
And concerning the thread you asked me to check it is not the same like my situation because I have a different port for each account but all on the same IP

Finally I have done the following
1- Set the source and dest NPI, TON on the smsgw.ini and restarted the service
2- Set the value of the sender address
3- Leave the "Allow Sender address override" checked
4- Define another account and did the same (NPI, TON, Sender)
it worked well, if you have explanations please let me know

Ram,

Ok. If the accounts are all on different ports, then there is no need to use the work-around that I pointed to on the other thread.

Glad to hear that you were able to get this working.
