Can someone tell me what settings to put in? Or give me thier settings to go in my phone? I just want free bloody MMS but I don't see why they shut down. Oh and I did read the quick start guide. I didnt understand a word of it, I just copied the settings from the images and then tried http://ip.address/username=password with the right substitutions and still nothing

The free MMS site was shut down almost a year ago because it cost us several thousand quid per month to operate.

At the rate that the service was growing, it was only going to cost more money every month to operate. (Plus, there was the cost of technical support for users who could not figure out how to configure their phones.) So it was shut down.

I'm sorry that you do not understand a word of the quick start guide for the Now SMS/MMS Gateway. But to save you some time and effort, it is not a solution for "free MMS".

You need, at a minimum an account with an SMS service provider or a GSM modem, in order to able to send any messages.

You have configured an account with an SMS service provider, or connected a GSM modem to the system?

In your initial message, you stated, "I just copied the settings from the images". That led me to believe that you have not configured an account with an SMS service provider ... as the settings in the images are just examples of the type of settings that you would configure, and not actual live settings.

Hi according to step 3 in the quick start guide I must enter http://127.0.0.1:8800 but then I was prompted for a username and password. Mine appears to be invalid. What can possibly be the problem?

Leon,

In the NowSMS configuration dialog, there is a page titled "Web". On that page, there is a checkbox "Require Authentication for web interface". In most environments, it is a good idea for this setting to be checked.

If that setting is checked, NowSMS requires a username and password for access. This username and password must match an account that is defined on the "SMS Users" page.
