Hi all. im using e71 for nowsms, but the nowsms cannot recieve sms from my phone, there is error from log that i read "00:18:54:078 [2] ModemReceiveMessages: Modem does not support polling for received messages", but there is no problem with the sending.,,is the current version nowsms doesn't support e71 ??.,., need ur guide pliz, thank u | |||

Hi, Unfortunately there is a limitation of all Nokia series 60 (Symbian) phones in that their GSM modem implementation supports sending messages only, not receiving messages. All received SMS messages are processed by the Symbian operating system on the phone, and they are not shared with the GSM modem interface. As an alternative, there are quite a few inexpensive GSM/3G USB stick modems available. These dedicated modems don't have limitations like mobile phones. I've used USB stick modems from Option (GlobeTrotter and ICON series) and Huawei. And I've also seen good reports about similar models from Novatel. There are also larger dedicated modem devices available from manufacturers like Wavecom, Multitech, iTegno and Falcom. If you have to use a phone, SonyEricsson models (except the P and X series) tend to have the best GSM modem implementation. Unfortunately, Nokia has decided to limit their GSM modem implementation to sending messages only. -- Des NowSMS Support | |||
