> Hi, Who is the manufacturer of this modem?

What errors does NowSMS report?

Have you tried changing the SMS access setting in the properties of the modem in NowSMS to be GSM?

Hi,

I'm sorry, but I have no information about that modem.

What happens when you try to use the modem with NowSMS? What error does NowSMS report?

Also ... in NowSMS, on the "SMSC" page, select the modem and press "Properties". Try to change the "SMS Access" setting to "GSM". On some networks with some modems, only the "GSM" setting will work for sending messages.

The above error can indicate that there is other software installed which is using the modem.

In many cases, these modems include software that tries to automatically connect to and activate the modem when your computer is started.

Usually, if such software is installed, you will often find an icon for the software in the Windows "tray" (right side of the task bar, near the date & time).

As the software for every modem manufacturer is different, how you stop the modem software from loading automatically will be different.

I would be curious to see an SMSDEBUG.LOG from NowSMS, as it might give me some ideas of other things to suggest to you.

To enable the SMSDEBUG.LOG, there is a checkbox on the "Serial #" page.

The SMSDEBUG.LOG cannot be posted via e-mail, you need to visit the discussion board link to upload it as an attachment.

For recommended USB stick modems, I personally use the Option ICON 322, which is very fast.

I have also heard very good comments from customers about other Option ICON and GlobeTrotter modems.

I have also heard very good comments about the Novatel MC950D.

We have a Huawei USB stick modem running at one of other sites, but I don't remember the model. I've generally heard good things about USB stick modems from both Huawei and ZTE, but I don't have any specific model number information.

The SonyEricsson MD300 is also a very good modem. I almost forgot to mention it. It did require an update to NowSMS before it would work properly. There is an update at http://www.nowsms.com/download/nowsmsupdate.zip which fixed a compatibility problem with the MD300. You may want to try that update, as there may be a similar issue with the modem you are trying.
