Hi,

I have a sometimes problem in delivery report,
please check :
2009-10-10 15:34:28,+21892xxx,Text,id:744752735218 sub:001 dlvrd:001 submit date:0910101334 done date:0910101334 stat:DELIVRD err:000 text: 06F600,+971555xxxx

It's not giving SMSCReceiptMsgId,and the Id is not of nowsms as I guess.

and other is ok,although smae connectivity:

2009-10-10 09:38:37,201xxxxx,Text,id:4AD05B3A sub:001 dlvrd:001 submit date:0910100738 done date:0910100738 stat:DELIVRD err:000 text: 06F210,0045xxxx,SMSCReceiptMsgId=4AD05B3A


What can I do in this case?

Hi Omar,

To start, you should search the SMSOUT-yyyymmdd.LOG files to see if you can find another reference to that id 744752735218.

If it is a valid id, there should be a record entry with SMSCMsgId=744752735218.

If you can find a match, then we need to do some more investigation as to why NowSMS is not properly resolving the message. (What version are you running? We can look to see if there are any version specific issues.)

If you can't find a match for this message ID, search the log for messages that you sent to the phone number that this receipt is coming from. What "SMSCMsgId=" values are listed for messages that you sent to that phone number. We can look to see if there is some possible correlation between these values. (Some systems do generate decimal values in the delivery receipt, but hex values in the submit response.)

If we can't figure out a correlation, there may be a problem at the SMS service provider where they are mixing up IDs in the delivery receipts. (Unfortunately, this does happen.)

Hi Omar,

I think the only answer is an update.

About how many of these unresolved receipts do you get?

Prior to NowSMS 2007, we used a receipt tracking file that sometimes could not keep up with higher message volume. In NowSMS 2007 we migrated the tracking database to SQLite. (And we've been continually optimising the speed and handling to minimise the performance impact of delivery receipts since then.)

If your upgrade/maintenance agreement is not current for updating, as long as you have a valid purchased license in the first place, I'll see if we can work out an update.

Send your company name and serial number information to nowsms@nowsms.com with "Attention: Des" in the subject line, and I'll see what I can do.
