Hi Nikola,

The first thing I would suggest is making sure that you can send a simple WAP push message ok across the SMSC connection.

You want to first determine whether the problem is specific to the XML settings document that you are attempting to send ... or if it is a more general problem with binary messaging.

Last time I looked at Clickatell, I noticed in their connectivity details that they do not support binary messaging to all of the mobile operators that they connect with. So you'd want to check this.

From the NowSMS side, try sending a simple WAP push message, and see if it received properly. Keep the URL and text of the WAP push short so that it can fit in a single SMS message.

If that works, make the text of the WAP push longer to push it to two SMS messages.

If the WAP push tests work ok, then what are the details of the XML settings that are you trying to send? Are you including a USERPIN? What is the receiving device (Windows Mobile devices by default require USERNETWPIN signing, which involves the device IMSI)?

If the WAP push tests fail, do you receive anything at all on your device? Have you verified that Clickatell supports binary SMS to your target mobile operator?

Hello,
Thanks for your replay.

I try to send long WAP push message (2 SMS) across the Clickatell SMSC connection. All is OK.

I try to send same XML with E51 modem. XML is received. That means XML is OK.
I not use USERPIN.

Why is the best binary SMS operator? Advise me to choise the best one.

Best regards,
Nikola

Hi Nikola,

This is unusual. An XML settings message is one of the content types of WAP push.

How many SMS messages did your XML settings message require?

You might want to try lengthening the text in the WAP push test to see if a problem occurs after so many segments. Maybe you can figure out where you run into a limit and shorten the XML settings to require fewer SMS.

We hate recommending SMS service providers, because most of the time your experience will vary based upon the countries you are sending to.

There's a long thread here where various SMS providers have posted their spam over the years: http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/12/11087.html

It may be worth looking through for some possibilities.

With customers, we seem to encounter mBlox, Sybase 365 and Clickatell quite frequently. But there are so many providers out there that I don't really keep track of them. I only recall the ones where special configuration tweaks are required.

A few random "other provider" thoughts ...

Animatele is a customer of ours, and one of their technical people posts quite a few messages out here on our forums, and knows more about SMS than anyone else I've ever encountered.

Last week a customer asked me about Routomessaging. I don't know much about them, but what intrigued the customer was that they let you try out SMPP connectivity with 10 free messages in a trial before you commit to anything. I have no idea about their reliability, but I do prefer providers that use SMPP, and most of the providers that cater to smaller accounts only offer HTTP.
