Sorry for the off topic post. But can anyone suggest a tool which converts mp3 to midi which can be used as a ringtone ? Also I tried to send a RTTL ringtone through NowSMS using the following code d=4,o=5,b=250:c6,c6,a,b,8a,b,g,4p,c6,c6,a,8b,8a,8p,4g.,4p,e,e,g,f,8e,f,8c6,8c,8d ,e,8e,8e,8p,8e,g,2p,c6,c6,a,b,8a,b,g,4p,c6,8c.6,16p,a,8b,a,4g.,4p,e,e,g,f,8e,f,8 c6,8c,8d,e,8e,d,8d,c . This was taken from a site which sells a program to convert midi to rttl. However the ringtone did not play properly and all I heard was a buzzing sound. | |||

Dhiram, Here's a good reference that explains the issues that would be involved in converting MP3 to MIDI: http://mp3.about.com/library/weekly/aa111102MP3toMIDI.htm That said, here's a link to a program that claims to provide the conversion: http://www.intelliscore.net/ I tried a quick demo, and it does better than I thought it would. I could almost recognise the song that I tried to convert if I tried real hard.  NowSMS doesn't accept RTTTL directly (yet). My advice is to use the ringtonetools converter at http://ringtonetools.mikekohn.net/. I took your ringtone data above, added a name to the start of the RTTTL, like this: Test for Dhiram:d=4,o=5,b=250:c6,c6,a,b,8a,b,g,4p,c6,c6,a,8b,8a,8p,4g.,4p,e,e,g,f,8e,f,8c 6,8c,8d ,e,8e,8e,8p,8e,g,2p,c6,c6,a,b,8a,b,g,4p,c6,8c.6,16p,a,8b,a,4g.,4p,e,e,g,f,8e,f,8 c6,8c,8d,e,8e,d,8d,c I saved that as a file named dhiram.rtttl. I then ran: convert dhiram.rtttl dhiram.nok -x -s 1000 The output in the dhiram.nok file was: 024A3A7D5195CDD08199BDC88111A1A5C985B404009B28CAEA22822849A41C41A61C4184104288A0 8A12690718698418612410550550610590558590A22C4916136154156156106156184102288A08A1 2690710698710610410A22822D49081A41C61A4184904154154184164156164288B124584D855055 84D04D845000 I then pasted that data into the "ring tone data" field in NowSMS to send a Nokia format ring tone. | |||
