Hi Des,

On many occasions I receive answers in binary, like these:

Ramon,

Des or Bryce would confirm (i can't decode raw PDU with bare eyes) - if these are with DCS F5 or F7 they are likely sent by the carrier and work with your SIM app, which you should disable. Please refer to my previous post.

Kind regards,
Ashot

Hi Ashot,

These messages are not from the carrier.

13:58:57,+542615683674,Binary => +542615683674 is regular phone number. I am sure that this person sent a TXT message, but do not imagine that I get the message in binary format... Maybe coming from a PDA or blackberry.

Tanks for your time,

Best regards!

I forgot to clarify:

I'm not categorize this as a problem. It is rather a question.

As I said it might be from a carrier if with DCS F5 or F7.

Subscriber replies may look like binaries if from iDEN handsets.

Hi Ramon,

The SMSIN log file doesn't record the DCS for some reason.

However, I can tell from the data that this is a Unicode message.

... actually, it looks like you're using an older version. As I see in the logs on my test server, we do currently record the DCS value in the SMSIN log.

Also, we now convert Unicode messages to UTF-8 text for the log files in NowSMS 2009.

For older versions, I would point out that these Unicode messages are converted to text format when routed to a 2-way command.
