Hi, Phantom SMS sounds like terminology that somebody made up. I'm guessing that you mean "Flash SMS". In GSM environments, a flash SMS is a "class 0" SMS. The receiving device is supposed to display the message on the screen but not save it to the inbox. So once the user acknowledges the message, it disappears. In most cases, the phone also doesn't display who sent the message, just the text of the message ... but this behaviour cannot be guaranteed as it is up to the software on the phone as to how the message is handled. The NowSMS web form has a "Message Type" setting for "Class 0 (Flash)" that you can use. Or when submitting via URL parameters, include a value of DCS=F0 For SMPP environments, note that there is a conflict between how DCS (data coding scheme) for GSM is defined, and how the data_coding parameter for SMPP is defined. If your SMPP connection supports flash SMS, it will likely only support 7-bit text messages, not Unicode. I should also mention that not all providers will support this DCS value. So basically you need to try it and see whether or not it is supported by your provider and operator. Also note that some providers will ignore the DCS value and remap it to a normal message setting. -- Des NowSMS Support | |||
