Mona,

Other than having them subscribe to GPRS services, or purchase a different phone, I do not have any suggestions.

Most Nokia MMS phones (other than the 7650/3650) require GPRS for MMS support, although there is not a solid technical reason for this requirement.

I guess one other suggestion would be that you could try using multimedia WAP push functions to send multimedia objects to those devices.

Mona,

Sending the WAP push message from a mobile is tough ... I assumed that you were a content provider sending out content. The ".wappush" e-mail approach should work assuming everything is configured correctly in the gateway ... and that everything is configured correctly in the phone ... and in e-mail DNS.

I'd probably start troubleshooting by backing up a step first.

First verify with the web menu interface that you can successfully send out an SMS message. Start with a simple text message ... then start with a simple WAP push (enter any URL for the push URL as you're just testing to make sure that the message makes it to the recipient phone.

Assuming that is all ok ... can you do a multimedia WAP push from the web menu interface?

Still ok ... when you send a message to the e-mail address ... is the message making it as far as NowSMS gateway (you should see an entry in the MMSC-yyyymmdd.LOG file when the e-mail message comes in to the gateway).

Hi Mona,

This is only accessible via the "MMSC Users" configuration dialog on the PC running NowSMS (or the web admin interface).

When users are initially defined, the default setting is to use the "Default limits". You can override the limits on a per account basis under the individual account.

If you are provisioning MMSC user accounts via the web interface (as mentioned in this document: http://www.nowsms.com/support/bulletins/tb-nowsms-005.htm), then it is worth mentioning that there are two parameters supported by that interface which are not mentioned in the technical bulletin. A variable named "MaxMsgsPerDay" sets the max per day for the account, and a variable named "MaxMsgsPerMonth" sets the max per month for the account.

Hi Mona,

Yes, I should write something up on that capability.

I just wrote up a simple read me file, and included the files that you need to enable this type of functionality at the following link:
