Can i know how to make the sender phone no. invisible when sending out sms via nowsms gateway?

or maybe change the sender phone no to text "SMSAlert" instead of showing sender phone no.

I am afraid you may not be able to change it. Most of the mobile operator will check the sender number once they receive the message, they would only allow a valid phone number in the sender field. So it is not like email sender that we can make up any name. I have tried it before and it didn't work, because of the operators, not the NowSMS itself.
But I am not sure if all operators would have such checking.

Hi All,

Basically you can't change the sender phone number when sending a message through the GSM modem interface.

When you submit a message over a GSM modem, you are submitting it to that operator's SMSC, and the operator will always insert the phone number associated with the SIM card in the modem as the sender of the message.

In order to change the phone number to an alphanumeric text string, you need to send messages through an SMS service provider that supports that capability. (Then you can configure a default sender address in the NowSMS configuration, but also override it with a "Sender=" parameter when submitting a message.)

Hi bn,
Thanks for your feedback. Why if send OTA (over the air)wap setting via gsm modem, the sender no. is not available? Can I customise the sender phone no in this case?

TG,

The sender phone number is actually sent in the SMS message, but I have seen that some phones choose not to display it (or to say "unknown sender"). It is not clear to me why some of these phones behave in this manner.
