We did quite a bit of testing on the SPV ... and our suspicion is that the SPV does not support "Service Indication (SI)" or "Service Load (SL)" WAP Push.

The EZOS MMS client does receive the "MMS Notification" WAP Push messages ... so I'm not sure if the architecture of the software is such that all WAP push messages are getting routed to the MMS client and that client is throwing away push messages other than MMS notifications.

I've been wondering if there might be a software update for the SPV that would add support for WAP push.

P.S. - If anyone does know of any system that can send WAP push (SI or SL) to the SPV, we'd like to hear about it. Or if there is a software update for the SPV to support WAP push.

Hi Bryce

I have talk to a Lead Program Manager at Microsoft Mobile Devices Product Group and he could tell me that the SPV is supporting both SI and SL.
But the SI/SL messages are checked against a security policy before they run on the device. By default random messages sent to the device won't get processed, they have to come from a trusted push proxy gateway. Operators will typically configure the device pre-purchase with the appropriate trusted gateways.

So it seams that there are nothing to do about it...

It just doesn't make sense when they do this and don't give the user the option to change any settings.

Maybe someone knows how to hack the SPV?

Hi,

Has anyone found a solution to this SPV issue?

Has anyone had any problems with other Orange handsets?
