SMPP is an SMS specific protocol that is usually offered by higher-end SMS service providers. When you are connecting directly to a mobile operator, SMPP is usually the preferred protocol (although UCP/EMI is also used by many operators). A lot of the bigger SMS service providers also support SMPP on their systems. Although, quite frequently they reserve SMPP accounts only for higher volume users. I don't really recommend any specific SMS service providers, but if you search the web on keywords like bulk SMS provider, you can start to evaluate different provider offerings. I do recommend getting a test account first before committing to a longer term contract, as often with the lower priced providers you get what you pay for when it comes to reliability. -bn |
